Different adverbs and adverb phrases may fit "comfortably" in different places in a sentence: at the beginning, in the middle or at the end.

Some can go in all three positions:

  • Recently, he was arrested.
  • He was recently arrested.
  • He was arrested recently.
  • Unexpectedly, he was arrested.
  • He was unexpectedly arrested.
  • He was arrested unexpectedly.
